Congratulations to the WMS Scholastic Bowl Team on winning the Regional tonight! The Panthers will face Eureka in the Sectional Championship taking place this Monday at Streator Northlawn beginning at 4:00. Way to go Panthers!

Football players mtg - 5:00 pm in the MPR
Washington Community High School Athletic Department is conducting an informational night for all students interested in athletics.
Coaches from every sport will be in attendance for sign-ups and summer contact/workout information. Mr. Knoblauch - WCHS Athletic Director - will speak from 6:30 pm to 6:45 pm about athletics and online athletic registration.
Parents and incoming freshmen will then be able to speak with the freshman/varsity coaches starting at 6:45 pm.
Today Jordan Sonnenblick, author, visited WMS! We took full advantage of the learning opportunity and connected all lessons to themes presented in Sonnenblick’s written work. Shout out to Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Ballard and the city of Washington for making this happen!

Mrs. Embry’s class created board games during enrichment. They researched a topic, wrote the questions, designed a game board, and typed up directions in small groups.Today they got to play their games!

Fine Arts Showcase - great to see families out tonight! Artwork and music…awesome!



The stage is set! Come on out to WMS from 6-7:30 tonight for the Fine Arts Showcase! Food trucks will be on scene!

Washington Middle will have a cheer clinic May 10th-12th from 4:30-5:30. Cheer tryouts will take place May 13th beginning at 3:45. The clinic is open to any WMS student going in to 6th-8th grade. Washington Grade School District 52 is now accepting applications to fill a vacancy for the Board of Education. Jessica Heintz has resigned from the D52 Board as a result of a family move out of our district. We would like to thank Mrs. Heintz for her dedication in serving our students, staff, and community!
The new individual selected and appointed by the Board will serve the remainder of the unexpired term which ends in April of 2023. Interested individuals are asked to send a letter of interest to Cathe Kellenberger, d52ckell@d52schools.com, Superintendent’s Administrative Assistant by Tuesday, April 26th. Letters can also be submitted in-person at the district office, 303 Jackson St. Washington IL, 61571. Interviews for the vacancy will be conducted by the Board of Education on Monday, May 2nd.
